In Effective Leadership for the Rehab Professional, participants discover the essentials of being an effective leader. The course is presented in three segments: (101) Know Yourself, (102) Equip Your Rehab Team(s), and (103) Develop Your Strategy.
The completion of several self-assessment tools and engaging exercises will help participants answer the following questions:
- What kind of leader am I? This segment will empower participants with the first key to healthy, productive leadership: self-awareness and responsibility.
- Do you know your team, that is, have you taken the time to listen well? What are their strengths and limitations? How do they handle conflict? What is their preferred leadership style? This segment will empower participants to provide culturally sensitive leadership.
- Do you know your strategy? What are the top issues which need to be addressed in your facility, by whom, and in what order? This segment will provide participants with an opportunity to brainstorm alongside other rehab professionals in their field.
The ITS experience is designed to be energetic, informative, and interactive. Participants will work together to improve their individual leadership skills and contribute to the continual growth of professionalism within their discipline as physical therapists, occupational therapists, speech-language pathologists.
